SDS (Safety Data Sheet) is a chemical composition information, physicochemical parameters, explosive performance, toxicity, and environmental hazards that are provided to customers according to regulatory requirements for the production or sale of dangerous chemicals. And comprehensive documentation for the 16 items of information including safe use methods, storage conditions, emergency response, and transport regulations.

The United States GHS was formally implemented on March 26, 2012. The regulations covered the UN GHS's provisions on chemical substance classification and labeling requirements, in particular the classification and labeling requirements for chemical substances in the workplace, and the GHS labeling, hazard classification, and safety data. Tables, etc., have made clear regulations and have also issued new challenges to global chemical manufacturers. During the transition period of GHS implementation, companies can use the old HCS standard or the new HCS standard. If companies choose the new HCS standard to produce SDS and labels, they cannot directly adopt ANSI standards, and the content and format need to be adjusted. However, all manufacturers and distributors must update all older MSDSs to a new SDS that complies with OSHA GHS by June 1, 2015, to ensure the introduction of new regulations.
