        What is Rhein cTUVus

        The cTUVus verification mark provides customers with a clear and straightforward approach to product safety, enabling their products to successfully enter the US and Canadian markets. Rheinland North America is an established company that can perform validation and product testing services for ANSI/UL and Canadian national standards.   

German Rhine's authorized projects include: office equipment, information technology, business machines, audio-visual equipment, home appliances, laboratory equipment, medical equipment, test and measurement devices, and control equipment and many more.  

German Rhine's US and Canada certification marks are the same as other US NRTLs (like UL, CSA, etc.). For the US and Canada markets, only Germany Rhein has the capability of product testing and validation services.  

Technical Information 
Frequency: 60Hz Voltage: Single-phase 120V (used in the U.S. and Canada to measure between fire grounds and provide 15 or 20A protection Line); 240V (measured between firewires, generally available) 

    

    

        Voltage : Three-phase 208/240V 

    

    

        Plug structure: NEMA 5-15P and 6-15P plug standards are used in the United States and Canada. These straight blade plugs in the United States are clearly described in NEMA (National Association of Electronic Manufacturers) WD6 and incorporated in UL498. Canadian plug and socket standards are mentioned in CSA Publication C22.2, No.42.

DHL issued a TUVus verification mark for products in the U.S. market      

    

        Rheinland issued a cTUV verification mark on Canadian market products      

    

        When the TUVus is used with the cTUV logo, the customer can mark a single symbol cTUVus on the product, which proves that the product meets the requirements of both the US and Canadian markets.

Factory inspection 
TUVus's factory inspection is four times a year, and cTUV is twice per year. If both have applications, the annual factory inspection is four times. This factory inspection can be combined with other certificates such as TUV/GS, Japan S-Mark or Argentina S-Mark.
