    What is South African SABS Certification

    The South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) was established under the "National Standards Act" promulgated in 1945 and is affiliated with the South African Ministry of Trade and Industry. SABS is a neutral third-party certification body in South Africa and is responsible for system certification and product certification in South Africa. In addition to the responsibility for formulating standards, SABS also represents the national regulatory standards and grants the use of the logo to products that meet the specifications. SABS Mark has been widely used in various fields and has become a sign of product quality assurance.

    

    Certification process

    1.     Manufacturers fill in a complete application form

    2.     If the factory has more than one plant, you will need to fill out an application form. Each product within the scope of certification is required to be reflected on the application form. In addition, the factory also needs to fill in the application form of the person in charge of the credibility, the responsible person to ensure the first review fee and other certification fees;

    3.     South African Bureau of Standards will issue an audited quotations after receiving the application form;

    4.     South Africa's Bureau of Standards will conduct factory inspections on the premise of quotations;

    5.     If the above review is passed, the South Africa Bureau of Standards will prepare an annual monitoring contract;

    6.      Each year, there will be two random auditors who will conduct a random review. The annual cost of the supervision review and testing will be stated on the contract;

    7.     Two auditors will sample samples and bring them back to the laboratory;

    8. Samples of future tests will be sampled by the South African Bureau of Standards from sellers in South Africa. If the batch of goods is less than 4 times per year, then the sample will be insufficient. The factory will send it and its cost will be borne by the factory;

    9.     If the test result is unqualified, then the cost of the sample and the retest cost will be borne by the factory;

    10.  The validity of the certificate will be three years unless the certificate is cancelled for other reasons.

     

    Notes

    1. South Africa's certification is divided into two situations: The first application is the LOA and COC which is mandatory for South Africa's imports, and this certification process is not allowed to label the SASB trademark in the product Label above, this type of application does not require factory inspection; the second type of application is based on the first type of application and can be used again for the application of SABS Mark. The use of this type of mark requires a series of factory inspection procedures and costs a lot. , Each year must also pay a certain amount of annual fees and factory inspection fees as a sign of the right to use.

    2. The COC is an EMI test, and the LOA is a Letter of authority agent's accreditation. Apply directly to South Africa.

     

    Certification General Process
